In addition to our supervised certification course, local Captains are required to take an annual STCW/95 Basic Safety Training for local Captains and skippers wishing to obtain or maintain a Boat Masters License. This training is by the Maritime Department in collaboration with the Sea School International. This license is required by anyone who wants to be a local Captain. The certification covers (among other topics):
• Basic Fire Fighting
• Personal Survival Techniques
• Personal Safety and Social Responsibility
• First Aid/CPR -
Grand Slam Fishing Captains must pass a government training course. We start every crew member as a mate. After observing their ability, if we feel a crew member would make a worthy Captain, we invite them to advance. If the crew member wishes to advance, they must complete an extensive course and training under supervision by us. We also perform extra training and refresher courses for our staff.

We offer deep sea big game fishing, reef fishing, and snorkeling & fishing parties. Just click on the links to learn more about your choices, what kind of fish you’ll be catching, and more!
-
You don’t need to know a thing! Our experienced Captains and guides will help you every step of the way. We love introducing people to deep sea and reef fishing! The ONLY thing we need you to do is NOT to bring any Banana’s aboard. We know it’s superstitious, but we still do not bring any banana’s aboard.
-
The number of people you can bring depends on the boat and type of trip. Angler Management, our 48-footer, can accommodate 10 people. Wahooters, our 43-foot holds up to 8 passengers. Our 31-foot boat, Shady Grady, can seat up to 6 guests. Which boat you take will depend on the kind of charter you choose. Our approved capacity is higher, but to be comfortable we recommend these maximum numbers.
-
Since each boat is a different size, the accommodations are different for each. Angler Management has a fighting chair, air conditioning, salon, bathroom, galley, and staterooms. Wahooters features a fighting chair, full air conditioning, a kitchen, bathroom, galley, and stateroom. Shady Grady is also naturally air-conditioned as it is an open center console and has a clean, modern bathroom.

We offer 100% private charters. Each charter only includes you, your guests, and two crew members.
-
In a group charter, your group may be just one of many on the ship. Some group charters are so large not everyone even gets a chance to fish. A private charter means the group is only as large as you want it to be. You’re in control of where we go, and of course, everyone has a chance to fish!
-
Many group charters charge $300 or more per person. With big groups, you’ll be bumping elbows more than you like. And in a large group, you may have, shall we say, personality clashes. The entire trip might turn into a miserable waste of your time and money.
-
We troll the waters of Turks and Caicos, with 4-10 fishing lines in the water. The boat moves constantly outside the reef. In the summer, you may catch Blue Marlin, Yellowfin, Blackfin, Big Eye, Skipjack, Albacore Tuna, and Mahi Mahi! We have 7000-foot depths just 20 minutes from the marina, so you’ll be fishing FAST!
-
You will want to bring sun protection, including sunglasses, a hat, a shirt, or some kind of coverup. If you’ve never been at sea before, bring anti-nausea medication to prevent seasickness. If you plan on snorkeling, bring a personal towel and swimsuit.
-
No, we provide all necessary fishing equipment and your guide to ensure you have an exciting and comfortable trip!
-
No, we provide a fishing license for every person in your group. Each person will be billed $12 for a local fishing license as part of your vacation package.
-
We pick you up in the lobby of your resort in the Grace Bay Area or at your villa. Please be ready by 7:30 am for morning pickup or 12:30 for afternoon trips.
-
We provide a selection of cold beverages – water, soda, light beer, and light snacks on half-day trips. For ¾ day and full-day trips, we also provide a catered lunch of assorted wraps, cookies, and a fruit platter. If you’re using your charter to celebrate a special occasion, champagne is available for an additional fee.
-
Yes! You may keep your catch if you wish. The only exceptions are sharks, Nassau Groupers, and Billfish. Keeping those fish is strictly prohibited.
-
Yes! Just ask. Our crew will not only clean and fillet the fish, but we will also pack it off in a free cooler bag we provide! You can even carry your catch back to your favorite restaurant for them to cook! You can also bring your fish back to the USA and Canada for personal consumption.

We have a 20-year history of satisfied customers, but don’t take our word for it! Find out what others have to say:
• Mention Grand Slam Fishing Charters to the concierge at your hotel. All of the concierges on the island are familiar with our company and rave about our quality of service.• Read our unsolicited reviews on TripAdvisor. There are currently over 200 reviews raving about our services!
-
You’ll be dropping lines 15-20 minutes after we leave the harbor! We want you to have the maximum time doing what you came to do, which is fish!
-
The Captain has ultimate responsibility for your safety, and he decides if it is too rough to sail either the day before or the day of the charter. If the weather prohibits your charter for the day you booked, you have several options:
• Rebook for another day
• Get full credit for a future trip.
• Receive a full refund -
Absolutely! This is why private charters are so much fun. We can customize the trip for you. After 2-3 hours, we can sail to a private beach and drop anchor. While there, you can swim in a private lagoon or snorkel on the reef. It’s up to you!
-
The Facility fee is a 10% charge we add on to the base charge . We use this fund to cover any damage to any equipment however it is caused, lost lures, and the balance is split evenly amongst all staff as a monthly bonus.
-
Since it is a private charter it is entirely up to you and your group to call it quits at any time during the charter. We want you to have a positive experience, but unfortunately sometimes your body decides differently. We highly recommend the use of anti-nausea pills such as Gravol to avoid these situations. We will not stay out any longer than you want to, however, please understand that once the boat leaves the dock , there are NO REFUNDS or REDUCED RATES for shortened charters.
-
Yes! Each of our vessels have comfortable bathrooms with real toilets that are neat and very clean.
-
Sorry, we do not offer group charters . They are all private and therefore cannot join somebody else’s private charter. We encourage those who wish to join a group to post on the FB page Fishing in the Turks and Caicos and let people know your dates. We are happy to book your group but please remember we hold only one individual responsible for the charter cost and it is their responsibility to collect from the others.
