MAHI MAHI TACOS RECIPE

So you’ve booked your private deep sea fishing charter with the Grand Slam team and caught your very own catch. Now what? It’s dinnertime! The best fish to use for tacos are white-fleshed, mild, saltwater fish. Our top recommendations would be snapper, Mahi Mahi, Grouper, Flounder, Halibut or Cod. Mahi Mahi is what we recommend for this taco recipe. Mahi Mahi catches average between 15 and 28 pounds. They are a distinctive fish in both shape and color and generally quite colorful. While alive, Mahi Mahi is rich iridescent blue or blue green dorsally; gold, bluish gold, or silvery gold. The best time to catch Mahi Mahi is from November through March.

Check out our delicious Mahi Mahi Tacos recipe. It’s low in calories, fresh and healthy. You can serve in either flour or corn tortillas.

Step 1. Add olive oil and seasoning mixture to your mahi mahi – seasoning mixture should combine chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, garlic pepper, and cayenne pepper.
TIP: If you stop by The Palms Resort, you can purchase authentic island spices at SPICE, the resort’s gourmet mini market. Why not take a little bit of island flavor with you on the way home?

Step 2. Bake until the fish is flaky, then squeeze lime juice on top.

Step 3. Cut fish into bite size pieces and place into either corn or flour tortillas while topping with lettuce, onions, coleslaw, pico de gallo, and cheese. If you wanted a bit of spice, add jalapenos on top. Feel free to dip with homemade mango or pineapple salsa. Feel free to add the side dishes of rice and beans.
