The combination of powdery white sand and clear blue water makes this beach a hit for travelers. If you’re lucky enough, you may even get to see Jojo the friendly dolphin or the new baby dolphin Dreamer! They are frequently seen swimming in the waters off Grace Bay.
Private Deep Sea Fishing Excursion
Of course we couldn’t have a post on the top things to do in Turks & Caicos without mentioning a private deep sea fishing excursion with the Grand Slam Fishing Charters team! Avoid the crowds and enjoy our private deep sea fishing excursion that includes round-trip transportation from Grace Bay resorts, all fishing gear, and bait, lights snacks and beverages, snorkeling gear, and catered lunch (on tours that are 3/4 or full day). Dive for Shipwreck Discoveries
The La Famille Express is a grounded shipwreck near Provo. You can discover the old shipwreck and nearby reef delete by Jet Ski or hire a charter such as Wake to Wake. It is standing, grounded upright on the bank. Visit the sea animals that now call the boat home. If you decide to climb aboard and jump off, be careful as the water is only about 5-6’ deep.
Find Adventure on a Clear Kayak or SUP
Find adventure in a kayak or stand up paddleboard (SUP) tour around the crystal clear mangrove estuaries. Peep the marine animals that call it home and then continue to a nearby island which houses endemic rock iguanas, crabs, and birds. You will also have the opportunity to see turtles, conch, coral and more in their natural habitat. A nature and animal lover’s dream!
Continuing with our top things to do in Turks and Caicos, you will find a unique horseback riding experience on Long Bay. Enjoy riding our beautiful local horses on the turquoise water unlike anywhere else. Whether a beginner ride or professional equestrian, all skill levels are welcome here.
Want to get a glimpse of the turquoise glistening waters of Grace Bay Beach from atop? You have to experience parasailing, a quick 10-15 minute exhilarating ride in the air. While high above the water, try spotting different animals like turtles, dolphins, rays, and even sharks! This experience is bound to be talked about for days.
After a day exploring some of the top things to do in Turks and Caicos, end your day with a beautiful sunset over the water. Sunset cruises are typically taken between 1-3 hours and some cruises even offer you complimentary drinks to toast with. You’re probably wondering where the best sunset viewing areas on the island. The Leeward Beach and eastern Grace Bay area are going to be the two most popular cruising areas. It can be a very romantic experience for couples. Check out our private sunset cocktail cruises here.
Visit North and Middle Caicos
If you’re looking for an even slower pace then a trip to North Caicos or Middle Caicos would certainly fit the bill. These side-by-side islands are just a quick 25-minute ferry ride from Provo. It makes for an ideal day trip or even an overnight stay. You won’t find large built up hotels and resorts, but you will find quaint boutique properties and beachfront villas providing a comfortable home away from home. While North and Middle Caicos tend to receive the most rainfall of all of the Turks and Caicos islands, you’ll see trees and grass that is much greener. Consider hiking on some of the best routes this country has to offer such as The Crossing Place Trail.
It is without a doubt that the reefs around Turks and Caicos are amazing, with healthy coral. Enjoy our private snorkel trips for your group of friends or family. Whether you have a party of two or a family reunion of 32, our team here at Grand Slam Fishing Charters will help you customize and design the perfect day trip. This excursion introduces everyone to some fishing on the inner reef. After anchoring, we are able to get up close and personal to the fish while going snorkeling. Our destination options for this exciting excursion are as follows: Fort George, for the sunken cannons and Sand Dollar Point. Both conch and lobsters can easily be caught while snorkeling the shallow waters off our remote cay.
Eat at Da Conch Shack
Enjoy feasting on local seafood dishes and finish off with a dessert of Rum Cake. This open-air beachfront restaurant will give you the perfect taste of Turks and Caicos. Da Conch Shack can get busy so reservations, while not required, are highly recommended.
As you can see, there are many top things to do in Turks and Caicos, and the toughest decision you’ll make is what to do during your limited time here on the island.
